Posted on By No Comments on Tulum Airport Set to Welcome Its Inaugural Flights from 8 U.S. Cities This Week

Tulum is a beach destination that has become a favorite among American tourists. There are more and more carriers that offer nonstop flights from the newly opened Tulum International Airport.

TQO was inaugurated by the Mexican President Andres Manual Lopez Obrador on December 1, 2023. Since then, it has operated domestic flights in Mexico. In April, the operation will be changed to allow multiple nonstop flights out of US airports.

The airport is designed to handle more that 5.5 million tourists per year. In March, direct flights will be offered by the following airlines:

In the coming months, other international carriers like Air Canada (from Toronto or Montreal), Discover Airlines from Frankfurt and Copa Airlines in Panama plan to begin operations to Tulum. Mexico has reportedly been in discussions with Switzerland and Spain about starting operations to Tulum.

Tulum is a popular destination for tourists around the world due to its stunning beaches, Mayan ruins, and bohemian atmosphere. Travelers are drawn to Tulum for its mystical, relaxed vibes and their cenotes.

Cancun is known for its white-sand beach and archaeological sites. Add to that jungle adventures, barefoot seafood shacks and sunrise yoga sessions on the waterfront and kaleidoscopic marine life. You’ll see it is very close to paradise.

Tulum is only a 35-minute trip from the Riviera Maya, the region with the most occupied and available rooms in Mexico for 2023.
