Tulum is a beach destination that has become a favorite among American tourists. There are more and more carriers that offer nonstop flights from the newly opened Tulum International Airport.
TQO was inaugurated by the Mexican President Andres Manual Lopez Obrador on December 1, 2023. Since then, it has operated domestic flights in Mexico. In April, the operation will be changed to allow multiple nonstop flights out of US airports.

In the coming months, other international carriers like Air Canada (from Toronto or Montreal), Discover Airlines from Frankfurt and Copa Airlines in Panama plan to begin operations to Tulum. Mexico has reportedly been in discussions with Switzerland and Spain about starting operations to Tulum.
