In 2024, This Country Offers the Most Affordable Retirement in Europe

Posted on By No Comments on In 2024, This Country Offers the Most Affordable Retirement in Europe

Retirement is a significant turning point in your life. If you’re thinking of retiring abroad, the top things on your list are likely to be healthcare, security, and cost of living. Turkey has the lowest cost of living for retirees. Portugal and the Netherlands have the highest prices.

According to data from the company, retirees need 488 euros ($527) per month in order to live there. This nation is located in the southwest Asia/Europe region and has a population of 85 million. It also has one of Europe’s lowest crime rates.

A recent WTM Global Report shows that Turkey’s visitor numbers have increased by 70% since the pandemic. It is now the second most popular country in Europe behind France. This has made it a popular cultural destination as well as a place for international meetings, which are important to retirees.

Can Turken is the chief operations officer at Turkey Sotheby’s International Realty. He says that Istanbul, Antalya and Bodrum are among Turkey’s best retirement destinations.

Istanbul has some of Turkiye’s most desired properties, including villas and waterfront properties. Turken, T+L’s correspondent, said that amenities include newly renovated kitchens, bathrooms, parking spaces, indoor swimming pools, Turkish hammam, and saunas.

Antalya is a beautiful vacation resort on Turkey’s Mediterranean Coast. It has sun-drenched beach, fine restaurants and luxurious hotels. The historic city centre contains many Roman and Ottoman artifacts. Turken stated that properties near the sea with hotel-like facilities are highly sought after. The area is popular due to its warm climate almost all year round and the combination between picturesque nature and urban amenities.

Bodrum is a luxury resort on the Turkish Riviera that attracts retirees who are looking for seclusion and exclusivity. Bodrum’s pristine beaches, high-end hotels, shopping and dining options, and its elegant hotels make it a popular destination.

Germany is ranked second in Property Guides’ top 10 list of best retirement countries because of its abundance of green space and number of hospital beds. Greece is ranked third because of its affordability. Greece is a country with a low rate of crime and will cost you $1,108 / month on average to cover all your expenses.
