Bali Visitors Cautioned Regarding Misconduct Following Viral Video of Violence

Posted on By No Comments on Bali Visitors Cautioned Regarding Misconduct Following Viral Video of Violence

Tourists themselves are also known to cause problems, as they have been a problem in the past.

After the release of a viral video which shows shocking violence by a foreigner against a Bali driver, the Minister for Tourism Sandi Uno has issued a warning to future tourists against such conduct.

A tourist in Bali who seemed to have forgotten how to behave in a foreign land was recently involved in several incidents. In an Instagram video that went viral in late January, the foreign ride-share user punched a local driver after getting out of his vehicle.

Uno warned tourists to “never tolerate naughty behavior from tourists.” We will act in accordance with law, because this is a nation of laws…we can’t tolerate it.

Motorbikes are a common cause of accidents in Bali, as drunk tourists are known to do all over the world. The lack of familiarity with the proper use and maintenance of these motorbikes, combined with an increase in drunkenness, has led to reckless driving among tourists. This is a problem that affects both local drivers and visitors.

While unfavorable tourist behavior is on the rise, it’s important to be aware of other safety concerns that may apply to Bali or other countries. Bali is generally regarded as a safe destination for tourists. However, it’s important to stay aware of changing weather conditions and other factors that could cause a natural catastrophe.
