There are many unexplored European destinations. But one in the east is one of the most popular this year: Albania
is a country that was largely ignored by travelers in the past, but has now become one of Europe‘s hidden jewels.
The demand for travel to Europe increased in 2022, 2023, and 2024. This was especially true after the removal of all health-related requirements and the restoration of normalcy. While tourism giants like France, Italy, and Spain have taken measures to reduce the number of tourists, other less-known countries want to welcome more.
Albania is a tiny country in southeast Europe. It borders Greece on the south, Macedonia to the east and Kosovo in the north, as well as the beautiful Montenegro. It was only introduced to the world 30 years ago, unlike other countries of its time.
The fastest growing tourism in Europe by 2023
Eurostat reports that Europe will have 2.6 billion tourists in 2023. Albania has a record-breaking growth of 55.6% compared to 2022.
